Findings of the Ofsted Inspection: September 2017
Following our recent inspection by Ofsted, on Wednesday 13th September 2017, I am pleased to be able to share with you the Inspector’s letter, which confirms that More Park continues to be a good school.
The Inspector noted that the school is well led at all levels:
“You have built a strong and effective senior leadership team who evaluate the school’s work rigorously and are highly ambitious for pupils. You have a clear vision and are relentless in your drive to improve standards, identifying the key priorities for the school to work on.”
“Governors are well informed. They are able to ask leaders challenging questions and praise them for the high quality of teaching and learning.”
The letter also acknowledged good teaching and high standards of pupil attainment:
“…the number of pupils working at greater depth has increased and at the end of key stages 1 and 2 the numbers of pupils working at the higher standards are above the national average in all subjects.”
It was pleasing to hear the very positive views parents have about the school:
“The very large majority of parents who spoke to me, or responded to Parent View, Ofsted’s online questionnaire, are extremely positive about the school and would recommend it to others without hesitation.”
The letter also praised the care, guidance and support in the school:
“Pupils say that they feel safe in school and that they are well prepared to face potential risks in society, for example by learning about internet safety.”
“Staff are available at all times to listen to pupils and help them resolve conflicts.”
I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our parents, carers, pupils, staff, governors and members of the wider More Park community, for their support of the school.
We look forward to continuing to work together as we strive for excellence.
