Ocarina club is run every Friday lunchtime for KS1 children. The children are taught to read music and play along to nursery rhymes and folk songs they are already familiar with. It is a great opportunity for children to learn an instrument for the first time and it lends nicely to the recorder which children can learn to play in KS2. The children have performed songs at PTA events and it is a great way for KS1 children to represent the school as well as having fun learning an instrument.
Recorder Group for beginners meets on a Friday lunchtime. The recorder is a great way to introduce children to playing and reading music. They have lots of fun playing Recorder Razzmajazz! The recorder groups perform at the School Music Evening in May.
