School Lunches

School lunches are cooked and prepared in the school kitchen by The Contract Dining company.  The cost of a meal for the academic year 2018- 2019 is £2.30 and are required to be paid in advance of meals taken, via the school cashless catering system, sQuid.

You may choose either a packed lunch or a school dinner for your child. Both school dinner children and packed lunch children eat in the dining hall at the same time. The packed lunch table is next to the school dinner table, so your child will never be far from their friends.

As we are a healthy school we encourage healthy packed lunches. These should include at least one piece of fruit, a main selection of sandwich or wrap, pasta or rice salad, cheeses or yoghurt. NO CHOCOLATE OR SWEETS, NO NOVELTY FRUIT DESSERTS (i.e. fruit winders). We are a NUT FREE school due to severe medical conditions in school and your support of this is appreciated.

All KS1 Children are offered a “Universal free school lunch" as part of the current government initiative.

NB: Sometimes financial circumstances also entitle your child to additional financial resources for educational support in school, including free school meals. If you are currently entitled to any of the following your child may be entitled to additional support throughout their school life:

  • Income Support
  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit (not including Working Tax Credit) - if the household income is below £16,190
  • Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit
  • an income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 if you are an asylum seeker

Applications should be made through KCC using the link below. (This information will always be confidential)
