Art and Design Technology Intent Statement

At More Park our Art intent is to engage, inspire and challenge each student with the help of God. Building on key artistic skills, such as drawing, painting and other craft mediums children will create, evaluate, invent and experiment with their own works of art. Each lesson encourages children to produce art of their best ability, drawing on taught skills and encouraging individuality. We will explore great artists and craft makers to learn about the history and culture that influences our lives. Where relevant, art studies will link with other curriculum units to highlight its connections to the wider world to prepare them for future life.

At More Park we believe Design Technology is an inspiring, practical and rigorous subject. It is a subject which encourages children to  design and think creatively,  inspiring them and giving children the confidence to create a range of structures, mechanisms, textiles, electrical systems and food products with a purpose. We aim to provide the opportunity for children to solve real life and relevant problems within a range of contexts to enable the development of skills within the design, make and evaluate cycle.
