Catholic Primary School

School given outstanding result after inspection

We are delighted to report that the school was judged to be outstanding in its recent Section 48 inspection.  This grade is testament to the dedicated work of pupils, parents, staff, governors and Fr. Peter. The inspection team observed lessons, reviewed children's work, scrutinised our monitoring systems & policies, analysed parent questionnaires as well as talking to parents, pupils and school leaders.
The information was then used to make judgements on three areas:  Outcomes for Pupils;Leaders & Managers and Provision.  In all areas the school was given an outstanding grade.  As a result, the overall judgement for the school’s effectiveness in providing Catholic education was also outstanding.  Below are a selection of the comments made by the inspection team in their report.
Outcomes for Pupils
“The behaviour of the pupils in class and around the school is exemplary.”
“….behaviour for learning is outstanding.”
Leaders & Managers
“Leaders and managers are outstanding in their promotion and evaluation of the Catholic Life of the school.”
“In all lessons, pupils are given a clear direction for learning. Lessons are well planned to ensure the development of pupils’ prior learning.”
“Outstanding examples of teaching are characterised by the high level of challenge, excellent subject knowledge and differentiation.”
“Prayer and worship are a central part of the spiritual and caring ethos of the school.”
We are pleased that the good work of the school community has been recognised.  Your commitment, cooperation and support are essential in our shared partnership, which helps to ensure our children achieve the highest possible standards.  It is also important to thank all the staff, teaching and non-teaching, as well as all children for their efforts.  Particular thanks go to Fr Peter and to Mr Trim, who as RE subject leader ensured that the whole school achieved an excellent inspection.
We will endeavour to build upon this outstanding report to achieve this level in all areas of school life.
