From the 18th March 2020 through to the 5th June 2022 the Bishops of England and Wales suspended the obligation to attend mass in England and Wales. As of the 5th June 2022, Pentecost, the Bishops will lift the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days.

 

Parents applying for a place at More Park Catholic Primary School under a faith based criteria will need to complete a Supplementary Information Form.

 

Evidence of practice will be measured by frequency of attendance at Mass as validated by either a priest or minister, as was the case prior to 18th March 2020. These arrangements apply to the admissions round for 2023 and subsequent rounds

 

Appeals

 

The Timetable for appeals:

  • Includes a deadline for lodging appeals. The deadline will allow appellants at least 20 school days from the date of notification that their application was unsuccessful to prepare and lodge their written appeal (during coronavirus, this is now at least 28 calendar days’ written notice)
  • Gives appellants at least 10 school days’ notice of their appeal hearing (during coronavirus, this is now at least 14 calendar days’ written notice - please see the first section above)

  • Includes reasonable deadlines for appellants to submit additional evidence, for admission authorities to submit their evidence, and for the clerk to send appeal papers to the panel and parties
  • Ensures that decision letters are sent within 5 school days of the hearing, wherever possible (during coronavirus, letters are now to be sent within 7 calendar days of the hearing or panel decision - please see the first section above)

In Year Application procedure

 

To apply for a school place at More Park please complete the ICAF and Supplimentary form.  Both forms should then be returned directly to the school with any relevent baptism certificates.  This can be by hand, post or email to : morepark.secretary@more-park-westmalling.kcsp.org.uk

 

The school aims to reply to all applications within 10 working days of application.

 

Appeals of an admission decision should be addressed by email or in writing for the attention of Mrs Seal, Academy Principal to the school office.  This detail will then be passed to KCC Admission Apeals who are contracted by the school to manage all admissions appeals.
