Online Safety at More Park

Online Safety is a subject that is discussed with all pupils, in all year groups, in an age appropriate way.  Parents are actively invited to be involved in the schools teaching of Online Safety and this includes workshops with the Kent PCSO.

The first lesson of every term is an Online Safety lesson to reinforce what children should do if they are concerned online and how to stay safe.

All parents are asked to sign an Online Safety commitment to support their children at home and at school with their understanding of Online Safety.

More Park School uses 'child friendly' internet sites. It does not allow the use of unsupervised computing equipment.

Digital Leaders

The Digital leader programme is now running in school. Led by Mrs Hand, applications for places were considered from Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, with the successful candidates having the opportunity to complete a tailored programme of learning around the subject of Online Safety and the Digital world.

As Digital Leaders children will have the opportunity to share their knowledge, as peer mentors, with all classes to support the understanding of the importance of safety online.  At the same time our Digital Leaders will gain experience of planning and presentation skills as well as the chance to develop their self confidence when leading their fellow pupils in discussion groups.
